Kanye West Loves His Sneakers

These past years I noticed the trend of flat shoes/sandals is everywhere, especially with younger women. So I try to alternate my footwear by wearing flats on weekends. The sad thing is, I got used to wearing higher heels so much my feet ached after I wore my flats. I know, crazy right?! Probably my feet have changed structure or perhaps I just dread the feeling while wearing flats as I would look "less fashionable". Even so, I push myself to wearing flats and now I can officially say that I don't feel the pain on my feet anymore.

Flats I can do, but one item I can't seem to master is the sneakers (other than for running). Also not that many women look good in wearing one, except for those teen with boyish frame.

I googled the word sneakers and fashion and found so many women are actually wearing it, stylishly. Hmmm.... It's one item I really need to master soon.

You can wear it with skirt

Or a summerdress

or wear it with the casual pants

One other thing I also notice on my google result is that Kanye West is probably one of the biggest supporter of sneaker. Mr. West sure looks delicious in these pictures. He wears the sneakers for casual events to the black tie events. Mr. West sure loves his sneakers.

Denim Shirt Anyone?

Key to menswear’s current workwear influence, the denim or chambray shirt holds that all important rugged appeal. Stone washed vintage styles from authentic denim labels sit alongside clean cut denim shirts from sought after menswear brands.

Here's how the men (ahem) wears it.

And here's..... how I think the coolest ways of wearing the denim shirt.

Wear it in a ladylike manner.

Or... Wear it like a man!

The (boyfriend) Cardigan

Over the last few years the boyfriend cardigan has calmly taken its position as the ultimate go to cover up, that can be relied on to solve an endless array of outfit dilemmas. Now the boyfriend cardigan has graduated from sly menswear department dash (or boyfriend's bedroom rummage) to fully fledged wardrobe staple, with the high street offering hundreds of styles to choose from in the sizes, fabrics and colors girls want to wear.

I am obsessed with boyfriend cardigans, in part because I have my frozen days at times and if I don't wear wintery clothing my allergy will surface. These extra long sweaters cover my lower back and keep me warm. They're also fashion-y and a more grownup alternative to all the hoodies I wore during my college days. Beyond that, they are sold everywhere which means you can score them at very reasonable prices, and they are incredibly versatile so you'll get plenty of wear out of them. And that makes them a great value.

I know! Right! ;)
Couldn't resist posting the above picture.

If you haven't got one already, now is the time to investigate the benefits of the boyfriend cardigan. Whether you like boyfriend cardis for the warmth, or you just love the look, here's some inspiration for how to wear them. Are you a fan? How do you wear yours?

It's a Bag, Not a Game Console

Yes. That's PS1. A Bag. Not a Game Console.

The PS1 bag was launched in 2008 as the first bag of the New York based designer duo Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough for their label Proenza Schouler (their mothers’ respective maiden names). Since then, it has been seen on the arms of the most fashionable people in the world. It comes in three different sizes, large, medium and as a clutch.

This bag comes in a variety of colors and styles. You can find it in tan or beige suede, black or gray leather, black python, and black crocodile leather which gives it a bit of a more luxurious look. This is a great low standard everyday bag and is perfect for that geek-chic look that so many of the stars are sporting.

So PS1 'desperados'... will you be willing to get rip off to own your dream PS? I do like the beige version, just not enough to fork out the ridiculous price tag. I need to be strong to resist the temptation, although.....

This bag is a casual everyday type satchel. It is perfect to carry when you’re walking around town running your daily errands. It is comfortable and requires no specialties. With whatever outfit you are wearing you can just throw this bag over your shoulder and head out of the house. This is the perfect everyday bag because it can fit all of your necessities and more.

Ok, now I'm not so strong anymore (glancing at PS1 and its upcoming cousin the PS11).

It's a Tie!

Do all man's fashion items wearable for us women?
What about a necktie?

A do?
A Don't?

What makes a difference?

It's the ATTITUDE that counts. It's how you wear it.

Patti Smith & Rachel Bilson wore it best. Slouch is the key here. You don't want to look like you that uptight matron from St. Claire dormitory.

Would you wear a tie? Or, should we just leave it to our male counterparts?

Yummy huh?!

The word you're looking for is....
Anyway.. back to the necktie: a do or a simple don't?

Ambiguous Fashion at Its Best

I've always been fascinated by menswear. I do. And not only because menswear is a major trend this year. I've adored unisex styling ever since I was a little girl. Of course I've had my "Cinderella" moment. Every little girl wanted to be one. But I got over it not very long.

During my tween years, I've never want to be seen with a skirt. My torrid affair with unisex clothing last through the years. I dislike wearing a skirt or frilly clothes. Call me tomboy, I don't care. But I think I'm far from tomboy, as I'm able to style my unisex clothing with a feminine touch.

Other chicks adore the sweet gamine Audrey Hepburn, I prefer the other wittier Hepburn. Katharine Hepburn. Other chicks dig pinks, I dig blues or blacks or grays. A touch of color is not forbidden though.

Well.. enough about me, let's start. Hope you'll find this journal useful.

Here's a sample of what I call unisex style (from Chloe Sevigny Collection).
